How This Calculator Works
This calculator converts your slab dimensions to cubic feet, then to cubic yards. It also calculates the number of pre-mixed bags needed based on standard bag volumes.
Formula: Cubic Feet = Length × Width × (Thickness ÷ 12). Cubic Yards = Cubic Feet ÷ 27. 80lb Bags = Cubic Feet ÷ 0.6. 60lb Bags = Cubic Feet ÷ 0.45.
Assumptions & Limitations
- • Standard concrete mix at approximately 4,000 PSI.
- • 80lb bag yields ~0.6 cu ft; 60lb bag yields ~0.45 cu ft.
- • Ready-mix cost estimated at ~$150 per cubic yard (varies by region).
- • For projects over 1 cubic yard, ordering ready-mix delivery is usually more economical than bags.
